Some people say the dress does not make the person. While I believe this is true and there has to be soul and personality beneath the fabric, sometimes a perfect dress creates magic. Not the Harry Potter kind, no, the everyday kind of miracles when you're still your own self but somehow you’re changed. I think every girl knows this feeling. We experience it the first time we try on our Mom's high heels, our first bra and ...the first perfect "it looks like it was made for you" dress. This dress reminds me of my first special dress that was my Grandma's. My magical time-travel destination would be the late 50s and the 60s of NY with all the jazz clubs, the skyscrapers and the everyday life of tuxedos and dresses. We can only see that in black and white photos now, but it would be priceless to experience just one day of it in person. " I don’t belong here, yet I never felt so home. My mind says I’m running out of time but the beating of my heart follows the music. All the swaying shapes around me blurred into a kaleidoscope of colors. My Chanel parfume lingers around me like an unseen aura, the fabric of my dress embrace body as the rythm hums through me. Exhiliration fills my soul just as a new type of song comes alive around me 50 years later."
